Yes, it is called leftovers.Anyone know a homemade dog food recipe?
Well that is going to be the last time I let people vote for me because I would have gone with old cat lady. Only because Leftovers are not good for a dog. Why is there obesity in humans AND their dogs? Because humans eat junk and then feed it to their dogs!!!!! Don't feed leftovers please! Report Abuse
Anyone know a homemade dog food recipe?
Gee, I don't think a dog would be able to live like that. Eating off of leftovers dosnt even seen to be that great for us humans. Report Abuse
slop
TOTALLY useless %26amp; WAY too expensive!!!
*WHY* BOTHER???
ANY decent brand of DRY*ADULT* feed is FINE!!
Not the helpful answers I would expect from dog owners here. I had to dig around a lot and read a lot of books when I switched my cats to a raw meat diet. The best ';recipes'; in the books were good for dogs and not right for cats.
OK. Some books below. Go on the internet and do a search for BARF (biologically appropriate raw food) and you will get enough information to keep you busy reading for a week! Lonsdale is an Australian vet, head of the national veterinary association there, and his name will pull up something if it doesn't come up under the BARF search. Australian vets are strongly for this type of natural feeding. I am sure there is a home-prepared group on Yahoo where the members fed this way and can help you find the right diet for your dog. Yahoo has such groups for people feeding cats raw. You have to use raw for cats for reasons I won't go into.
Good luck in finding the right thing. Appropriately fed dogs and cats have beautiful coats, bright eyes, healthy immune systems, great energy, etc.
Table scraps. Not too good for the dog though.
If your dog is sick - feed him boiled chicken and rice. Yes - boil the chicken in water until it's within an inch of its life, mix with very soft rice and feed him a little, tiny bit at a time.
If your dog isn't sick - NO TABLE FOOD - but show me someone who doesn't and I'll eat the plate. Just a little, though, please. It's really not good for them.
a Fav of my dog's :
DOG MORSELS
2 cups whole wheat flour
2 tsp. garlic powder
2 cups white flour
1 cup skim milk powder
2 eggs
water
1/2 cup melted beef or pork drippings (or lard)
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Mix ingredients together with enough water to make a stiff dough. Roll out and cut into Christmas shapes. Bake on cookie sheet until hard.
Boiled chicken and rice...it's really good for them when they've been sick...
I don't... but you could try talking to my ex-mrs!!!
Pancakes and sausages.

A can of tuna in water (not in oil). It's usually cheaper than dog food, and better for them. But, they need dry dog food at least once a week for fiber, vitamins, and to keep their gums healthy.
Take plate of left over food.
Scrape into dog dish.
Watch dog wolf it down.
Repeat 1 to 3 times daily.
Duh.
There is this site I once found, I will do my best to find it again...
it's probably in my bookmarks somewhere. It has lots and lots of homemade dog food recipies you can try.
