looking for variety of meaty recipes to make in large batches to freeze. . Lost one cat amd believe it might have been due to tainted food, however, HE was the only one that ate canned/pouches not combined with dry food. My other pets still seem to be normal. Onset was SO sudden, I was unable to get him into town and then he was gone. Would appreciate recipes using ckn; beef; liver or just about any type meat or poultry . ThanksLooking for recipes for wet cat/dog food I can make at home. anyone know of a website..not just biscuits-meat
Sharon - there is lots of information available to you on the internet. Your problem will be that one recipe is not appropriate for cats and dogs. Each species has its own nutrition needs which must be met when you make their food.
Dogs are easy because their meat can be cooked - cats must have it raw. Just put in BARF (biologically appropriate raw food) on an internet search and you will get a lot of hits to investigate. Be prepared to encounter some very opinionated and didactic people on the groups. Just be ready to take your time in your investigation.
For cat diets you might consider joining some Yahoo groups dealing with feline raw diets: WholeCatHealth, rawKatz, RawPaws etc. There is also good information at www.catinfo.org, rawfed.com and rawfed.org.
If it seems a bit overwhelming then realise that even SOME raw food every week will greatly benefit your animals. It is not string theory and it does take some education on your part to get it right and do the best for your animals.Looking for recipes for wet cat/dog food I can make at home. anyone know of a website..not just biscuits-meat

I sometimes make my own dog food. I cook brown rice %26amp; barley in my rice cooker (1 cup rice, 1 cup barley, 1/4 cup flax seed to in 4 cups of water w/ 1 tablespoon olive oil in a automatic cooker). On the stove I cook 2-3 sweet potatoes, 1 pound of carrots, 2-3 large apples, 1 pound beef heart, 1 pound chicken livers %26amp; gizzards, 1 pound chicken livers, 1 bunch of parsley, 1-2 heads of garlic peeled (or 2-3 tablespoons minced garlic)...cook in a large amount of water until the veggies are soft. Stir in oatmeal to thicken the liquid...or drain. Run the cooked mixture through a grinder with another pound of raw carrots and 2-3 more raw apples. Mix ground mixture with cooked grains. I use a Seal-a-Meal and store 2 days worth in each pouch. Keeps very well in the freezer. When feeding I top each portion with brewers yeast and kelp.
First, check out the groups on my 360 page. I belong to several raw feeding groups and one is even more for dogs than cats.
You can also check out the recipe on the cat nutrition page. This site also has good info on converting cats to a raw diet, along with some other resources to get you started.
You have my deepest sympathy on the loss of your kitty!
Here's what you're looking for, at least for cat food.

Since cats have such demanding nutritional needs, and since dogs can eat almost anything, I suspect that your dogs could probably thrive on the cat food recipe offered on this site. (As you probably know, cats can not thrive on food developed for dogs.)
I'm so sorry for your loss. May your sweet cat rest in peace.
These links have good information about homemade cat food:

When you think about it, what does your dog need from its food in order to be healthy?
Today our pets have a wide variety to meet their tastes and needs and we have our choice of what kind of food we can choose to feed them. Despite the variety, pet foods usually fall into three major categories. These categories are: Grocery store foods, these types of dog and pet foods are usually found in grocery stores and mass marketed retailers and can contain lower quality, less expensive ingredients. The second category is ';premium dog foods,'; which can also be found in grocery's stores but are also found in pet stores and through your local veterinarian's office. These types of foods are usually made from some higher quality ingredients and are usually made evident by the expense of the food. Some of these pet foods though can contain lower quality ingredients that you aren't aware of. The third and final category is homemade dog food.More and more people are beginning to make their dog's food at home rather than buying commercial formulas. Homemade dog food doesn't contain any substances that could possibly be harmful to your dog's health such as artificial coloring and artificial flavors.
Another reason to make homemade dog food is the preservatives added to the commercial dog food. Homemade dog food has the benefit of optimum freshness without preservatives.
There are dogs that would greatly benefit from a homemade diet. Some dogs who suffer from allergies that cause severe itching may find relief once switched from commercial dog food to a homemade diet.
Processed dog food is a relatively new product and scientists don't fully understand the differences between commercial food and a diet of fresh food. There may be problems occurring in a dog's health because he is being given food that has had the nutrients cooked out of it and then sprayed back on.
