Make some German potato salad:
Hot German Potato Salad
Ingredients
4 medium potatoes (about 1-1/4 pounds)
4 slices bacon
1/2 cup chopped onion
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon sugar
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon celery seed
1/8 teaspoon pepper
2/3 cup water
1/4 cup balsamic vinegar or white wine vinegar
1/4 cup snipped fresh basil, oregano, or parsley
Directions
In a covered saucepan cook potatoes in boiling salted water for 20 to 25 minutes or until potatoes are just tender; drain well. Cool slightly. Peel and slice potatoes. Set potatoes aside while preparing dressing.
For dressing, in a large skillet cook bacon until crisp. Drain bacon on paper towels, reserving 2 tablespoons drippings in skillet. Crumble bacon and set aside. Cook onion in reserved drippings until tender.
Stir in flour, sugar, salt, celery seed, and pepper. Stir in water and vinegar. Cook and stir until thickened and bubbly. Stir in potatoes and bacon. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes more or until heated through, stirring gently. Fold in basil, oregano, or parsley. Transfer to a serving bowl. Serve warm. Makes 4 servings.
SACWhat is a good german food recipe that is easy to make and would be good for a class party?
I like the first answer. Bratwurst is yummy and easy to eat. Usually my family eats it with cabbage (doesn't have to be sauerkraut) and hutspot (a dutch meal of mashed potatos, onions and carrots) and gravy on top.
This site may give you some ideas for the sweets - that might be easier for a class party?

Try and find a German/European specialty supermarket and have a look in there for some more ideas. What is a good german food recipe that is easy to make and would be good for a class party?
Along with the sauerkraut and bratwurst the above person mentioned, I would also serve some sliced pumpernickel bread with it and maybe some Hero brand current preserves or butter.
Haribo brand gummi bears are from Germany and might be a fun dessert. Most Wal-Marts and Target stores carry them these days.
Go with something sweet, and portable - like squares or cookies -
